School question fails in General Election



Based on unofficial election results from late Tuesday, the Prairie Central School District proposition was voted down.


The no votes were 2,716 to the yes votes of 2,400 for the question to issue $45,000,000 school building bonds. This vote total covers Livingston, McLean and Ford counties.


The results were as follows in the different areas:


Livingston County Yes 2,158 (55.42%)

No 1,736 (44.5%)


McLean County No 974 (80.23%)

Yes 240 (19.77%)


Ford County

No 6 (75%)

Yes 2 (25%)

 

The district asked voters for the issuance of school building bonds to build and equip a new elementary school building. This also included repairs and site improvements to Prairie Central High School, Prairie Central Junior High and Prairie Central Upper Elementary.
