Donna Rose Saffer, 86, of Chenoa, died at 6:03 pm, Monday, October 4, 2021 at her residence in Chenoa.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a private family graveside service to be held at a later date in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa. There will be no public visitation, Duffy-Pils Memorial Home; Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions are directed to the McLean or Livingston County Humane Societies.
Mrs. Saffer was born January 10, 1935 in Chenoa; a daughter to Loyal and Elva (Vielhak) Augspurger. She married Robert A. Saffer on December 28, 1958 in Chenoa. Her husband preceded her in death on October 27, 2006. Her parents, three brothers, one sister and one son, Rodney Saffer also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son: Scott (Akiko) Saffer of Kempton; and one sister, June (Wes) Stalter of Chenoa.
Donna taught in the Lexington for one year and Chenoa School district for 38 years. She and her husband Bob operated restaurants in Chenoa, including Bob’s Kat-e-Korner Drive In until 1988 when they re-opened as Bob’s Kat-e-Korner Dolls and Gifts. She continued to operate the shop until her death. Donna really enjoyed teaching, family, her pets, gardening, and chatting with visitors at her shop.
