In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to EPIC of Peoria.

Miss Nance was born October 10, 1961 in Peoria; a daughter to Lawrence and Ellen Ann (Johnson) Nance.  Her father and grandmother, Lillian Johnson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother, Ellen Ann Nance of Washington; two sisters, Bridget (Canoe Man, AKA Donald Christie) Nance; Cecelia (Charles) Smith both of Washington; two brothers, Stephen Nance of Washington; and Mark (Becky) Nance of East Peoria.

Mary was a very strong and unique person. Through the years Mary enjoyed many things, like going to church and the movie theatre with her dad. She also enjoyed shopping for an array of different things that she collected, such as stickers and jewelry. She always loved visits with her siblings and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved, but she especially loved being with her mom. However, if you wanted to visit with Mary, you had to pay her 50 cents or a dollar.

Mary worked for EPIC in Peoria for 40 years. She loved her job and all of those she worked with over that time, including all of the staff and roommates at her home. Like a sister or a second mother, the head of her household, Toni, has known Mary the whole time she worked at EPIC. Mary touched so many lives in a very special way, and will be missed by all.
