Lois graduated from Chenoa High School and continued to live in Chenoa her entire life. She worked for State Farm briefly, and then opened up her own custom drapery business, Lois’ Draperies. She created beautiful drapes for customers all over central Illinois for many years until her retirement. She was involved in many activities in the community. She loved to play Euchre, Pinochle, and Bridge with many other residents and you could always find a card club playing somewhere in town any night of the week. She also belonged to the Lois Club and just recently attended a meeting where she was told she was the oldest and longest member of the club.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, being affectionately known as Gigi. Whether it be coming over to cook chicken and rice for her, having a glass of wine and talking at the kitchen table for hours on end, playing crummy rummy, or just spending the weekend with her hanging out, she had a special unique bond with each of them. Right up until her passing, she continued to be the loving, spunky, and sweetest woman around! Everyone who knew her loved her and will never forget her tenacity, charm, grace, wit, and her undying love for her family. Known for her kindness, hearty laugh, strength, sense of humor, and her vast collection of matching necklaces and earrings, roosters, and owls, she was the heart and soul of our family and she will be sorely missed. We all are grieving her loss, but take comfort in knowing that Donnie and Lois are together again.
The family would especially like to thank the OSF Hospice nurses and caregivers. They treated her like family and took the best care of her, often saying she was their favorite patient.
