A combine fire southwest of Weston Friday led to the complete loss of equipment and spread through a wheat field.

Chenoa Fire Chief Troy Aldrich reports several acres of the field burned before the blaze was brought under control. No injuries were reported and Chenoa firefighters were aided by Lexington and Fairbury tankers and manpower before extinguishing the fire.

The fire was reported in a field along McLean County Road 2800, just west of the Weston-Colfax Blacktop. There is no official word on a cause.
