The various Chenoa 4th of July contest winners have been announced.
Awards were handed out Sunday evening during the annual street dance for Mr. and Mrs. Fourth of July, Chenoan of the Year and Master Firecracker and Miss Sparkler.
Bill and Juanita Harrison were presented with the Mr. and Mrs. Fourth of July honor. They have been active participants in the community in various capacities over the years, earning them recognition by others.
“In acknowledgement of your commitment to years of service to the community of Chenoa we present you this award,” stated a certificate of recognition given to the couple.
“We both want to thank you all very much,” said Juanita. “This is the greatest community around.”
Kurt Rhoda was named Chenoan of the Year for his service to the betterment of the city through volunteerism and his role in managing the Chenoa park project to provide a safe and enjoyable space for all ages to enjoy.
“I think we can all appreciate all the good he has been doing, especially most recently with the nice park we have set up,” said Chenoa 4th of July committee member Jessica Ifft.
Master Firecracker is Carter Acklin and Miss Sparkler is Becka Butler. Both received baskets donated by Heartland Bank and will be riding in Monday afternoon’s parade.
