More released on fatal wreck


The intersection near a fatal wreck which occurred Monday morning west of Chenoa.

The McLean County Coroner has released more information surrounding a fatal wreck which occurred west of Chenoa Monday morning.


Officials say Elsie L. Sizer, 44, of Chenoa was pronounced dead at 8:51 a.m. Monday following the accident involving an automobile and semi on Route 24 near 2480 East Road, also known as the Meadows-Lexington Road. Coroner Kathy Yoder reports the cause of death as multiple blunt injuries due to a collision reportedly sustained as the driver of a car which crossed into the path of an oncoming truck.


Toxicology testing is pending and the incident remains under investigation by Illinois State Police and the McLean County Coroner’s Office. The roadway was initially shut down in both directions for several hours after the crash.
