Big plans for Blessings from Above

It’s almost time to deck the halls and one Chenoa business is helping to get everyone in the holiday spirit this weekend.

Blessings from Above is holding its Christmas open house Nov. 5-7 at their new location in the former Winterland Boat Sales building at 919 East Cemetery Avenue (Route 24 east). Blessings from Above moved to the new location from the downtown area about a month ago.

“We deliver now from Bloomington to Dwight and Chatsworth to El Paso, including Colfax and Flanagan,” explained business owner Marci Bell Curtis.

The open house takes place Friday from 3-9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 12-4 p.m. The store offers a variety of fresh flowers, antiques and farm house décor.

In addition to the Blessings from Above offerings, Curtis also plans to open a restaurant called Randy’s next spring as part of a big business expansion.

“The local folks know that I had a special needs brother named Randy who just passed away in February,” said Curtis. “In his memory, we are building the restaurant and it’s also got to have ice cream, lots of homemade desserts and really caters to the hometown folks.”

Curtis’ goal is to open Randy’s by Memorial Day weekend of 2022. Blessings from Above will eventually move over to the bay area of the building with outdoor offerings in the spring.

“We’ll also be featuring an outside garden area with hanging baskets, shrubs, bedding plants, garden plants and things of that nature.”
